Resolution and Detail: Seeing What HD Misses
A standard HD (1080p) microscope provides a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is sufficient for basic inspection tasks. However, 4K Ultra HD imaging offers 3840 x 2160 pixels that’s four times the detail.
Why It Matters:
- Micro-defect detection: Fine cracks, scratches, or solder bridges that may be missed on HD become clearly visible on 4K.
- Higher measurement accuracy: Sharper edges and finer pixel density reduce visual uncertainty during on-screen measurements.
- Digital zoom without loss of clarity: You can zoom in digitally while retaining sharpness, minimising the need for frequent optical magnification changes.
